I don’t want people to think this project is gone. Here is a demo.

Thanks everyone who came out tonight. I feel like I won the Academy Award for Best New Skrillex in the category of Covers: Hairstyles. Seriously, feels awesome to see people dance to my music.

I wouldn’t say this is necessarily a huge influence on Wooden Satellites, but definitely on my life in general. The snake can see you.

Tonight is the first Wooden Satellites solo show in a very long time. I’ve been practicing with the SP-404 sampler all week and I’ve got 5 songs worked up, 3 that have never been played for anyone before tonight.

Weather in Fort Wayne looks great again today.

Joshua Ihrie

Recently met Josh at my sister’s wedding. He and his wife did a fantastic job with that, so when he offered his services in taking some shots of me for Wooden Satellites, I was really pumped. A few cold shoots, early mornings, and semi-long Indiana drives later, and I’m really happy with what he came up with. Props.

AND THEN THERE WAS ONE

Wooden Satellites has been a music-making project since Summer 2008. Since then, it has been a one, two, three, four, and five person band. It has included what I feel are some of the finest and most adventurous musicians in Fort Wayne.

2012 started strong with four local shows featuring a five-person Wooden Satellites lineup. Those shows were really fun.

But things are changing.

In the last month, Wooden Satellites returned to solo project status. I’m writing in a slightly different direction, one that is simultaneously more experimental and perhaps more accessible. It’s certainly more beat-driven and electronic. I’ve been recording and have several songs ready to release after they’ve been mastered. Also, I will be attempting some non-acoustic solo shows in the very near future.

Stay tuned here for updates.

Big thanks to Sweet Tooth, a local company here in Fort Wayne that printed these new shirts for us. Andrea did the design. She is convinced that you can see a pirate somewhere in the design.

You can get this baby in Sm, Md, or Lg at any of our upcoming shows.
